Hyde Park was the venue for a week of sports-related events this May. With tens of thousands of visitors expected across the week, Integrated Security Consultants (ISC) was contracted to provide security for a number of high profile sponsor enclosures.

Within Hyde Park, a number of corporate partners had set up tents, stalls and displays and required the skills of ISC personnel to ensure that products and staff were well secured at all times.

Heineken set up the "Endless Bar," catering for hundreds of football fans. With high spirits and great camaraderie between opposing team supporters, a diplomatic yet vigilant approach was required from the ISC team, who ensured all fans in attendance were safe whilst allowing everyone to enjoy the event.

"Whilst there were no major hurdles to overcome, it was a case of ensuring that we remained focused and motivated at all times to ensure the public had a fantastic time and that the clients we offered our services to were looked after appropriately," says Dean Tindal, ISC's Event Operations Manager.

As well as the visiting crowds, equipment also needed to be safeguarded. Other clients that required the services of ISC were Sony, Ford and UniCredit. Sony exhibited sport on 3D televisions, and offered rows of Playstation consoles for the public's use, Ford had a brand new vehicle on display and a football competition for children, whilst UniCredit provided a 'Beat the Goalkeeper' contest. To ensure that all clients received the very highest standard of service, ISC had around 110 members of staff onsite at peak times to fully secure the site.

"The best way to deal with prestigious events like this is to speak to people on their level and not conform to the stereotypical image of security," explains Tindal. "A polite and respectful attitude towards the public is usually reciprocated and helps maintain a good atmosphere. ISC's expertise in this field and our awareness of the importance of customer service is why I believe we were selected."

Chloe Rollinson, Account Director for Amplify who production-managed Sony's stand, praised the ISC team, stating: "Many thanks for all of your help across the course of the festival. Please extend my thanks to the onsite team who were such a brilliant help on site and a pleasure to work with."

Terry Brown, Health, Safety & Security Manager for Creative Bars, agreed, adding: "The Heineken team was truly amazing and in particular the two supervisors. Thanks for all your help."
